Executive Director's October 2025 Message

It's that time of year again – Open Enrollment for our 2026 Plan Year starts today! This is your annual opportunity to review your current benefit selections and make any necessary updates for the upcoming year. 

Key Information:

• Enrollment Period is from October 1 to October 24, 2025: You will have the chance to enroll in or make changes to your benefit plans. 
• Important Deadline: The final deadline to complete your enrollment is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025. Open Enrollment is the only time during the year you can make these changes unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). 

What's new for 2026: For our City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) and Superior Court of San Francisco employees, I’m excited to share two new opportunities for this upcoming year:

1. New York Life will take over as our Group Life and Disability Insurance. For this Open Enrollment period only, New York Life will offer a Guaranteed Issue opportunity for our members to elect up to $200,000 in Voluntary Supplemental Life Insurance without having to obtain Evidence of Insurability.
2. The maximum contribution amount towards Dependent Care Flexible Spending is increasing substantially for members who earn $160,000 or less. These members will be able to contribute up to $7,500, essentially saving more than $2,000 in taxes.
